I thought it was illegal to carry out gender reassignment surgery on children - so this statement from the second head makes no sense to me;
“Ofsted and ISI also measure inclusive atmosphere and state that schools must specifically cater for those undergoing gender reassignment.”

Interesting ....phrase bumble lifted is what instantly jumped out at me.... Is this true? Or has he reworded their guidance?

Rest of what he said sounded very simple, pragmatic and gently supportive without making a fuss - though I am rather disturbed by a coed school where girls don't naturally wear trousers when they fancy - and that it is seen as a sign of identifying as male!

Far more inspired by Uppingham approach of let boys experiment with wearing skirts if they fancy - doesn't mean they're trans, just that they are exploring their identity and personality....

In the Equalities Act the protected characteristic relating to trans people is referred to as under going reassignment. It is used as a catch all term- from considering transition to fully transitioning.
I expect over time this will need to change as it seems to be based on a binary model of gender and transitioning from one thing to another. There are now infinite gender identities and so the category is not fit for purpose. Hopefully when this is reviewed they’ll tighten up the definition of sex as a protected characteristic!
