Yes!

This is the way to do it.

Well done that headmaster.

And also Dr Christian Jessen: 'For too long we have stereotyped people - notions such as pink for girls and blue for boys are problematic.

He also said that children should be given psychological support before being allowed to take hormones or to go through with sex-change surgery.

'It is OK for children to question their gender identity,' he said.

'The crucial question is then what the medical profession does about it.'

The school hasn’t adopted a gender neutral uniform unfortunately. A boy needs to ask and they MAY be given permission. Don’t see what this school are doing that's so newsworthy.

I think it's a good thing especially the acceptance that they don't need to identify as a girl to wear a skirt as well as the caution around medicalisation.
It does make me wonder how much schools and heads are under pressure to accept trans ideology from mermaids and their ilk.

The important thing like @StarsAndWater says is that boys can dress and act according to feminine stereotypes (and girls can do the opposite) without having to sign up to the idea of 'being trans'.

Doesn't say anything about allowing girls to wear trousers though.

I think that the school have offered to make exceptions, (as per pp it's not really that newsworthy) it would be progress if they and other schools had a neutral uniform, I don't say this as pro anything other than I think it's not fair that in some schools girls have to wear skirts, and they shouldn't have to compromise their play.

It's a boys' boarding school isittheholidaysyet

It's a coed boarding school, though it was single-sex from its founding in the 1500s until 2001.

I don't know if there is a trousers option for girls, I don't remember ever seeing a girl in uniform in anything other than a skirt.

My DC school has a totally gender neutral uniform policy. Anyone can wear anything on Uniform list. Seems to work well, a LOT of the girls wear trousers, 2n boys wear skirts and have long hair. One white boy took to wearing a turban on one occasion and DD has regularly stated her intention to wear a headscarf when she doesn't want to wash/brush her very long curly hair. No one seems to have a problem with it.

I genuinely do not understand why they have different uniforms for the sexes. 'Gendered' clothing, toys etc being thrown at children and them being told they are not allowed to differentiate is part of the problem with the vast amount of 'transkids' I think.

Sounds good. We are at war with DSDs school because they are way too OTT in 'gendered' stuff. And are also being very contradictory with the trans students compared to others. For example, there is a strict no makeup policy. Or it was strict, until a few 'transgirls' came out, now the 'transgirls' are allowed to slap it on, but noone else is. DSS is at the same school and we keep getting letters about how his hair is too long. Its not even that long, pretty much only the fringe in that floppy style that kids like. However, again, the 'transgirls' are allowed long hair. DSS actually said at one stage that he was going to tell the teachers he was trans so they would STFU about his hair.
