Fighting a losing battle?

Has anyone got some positive news about campaigning against the proposed changes to the GRA? I know there have been a few articles now in the media presenting a more balanced view but the suspension of members from the Labour party, closure of GC social media accounts, investigation into David Davies and now shutting down Venice's clothes swap are just a few of the issues that are beginning to make me think this goes too deep and we can't win. I'll still be attending the WP meeting next week and will continue to write to people about the issues but am feeling v downhearted about it all tonight. I worry for myself and my daughters.

OP
When you feel like this, give yourself a break, talk to women (like you have done here), and come back when you are ready.

In the meantime, other women will continue challenging this madness.

It is hard going. But we will not lose, because we can't

A Name;
Perhaps a little cheer, over the last few days ,there have been four
online Guardian articles on Trans issues, all have quickly disappeared from the front page, none have made 'most viewed' .
Tide turning

I think the tide is turning, slowly but surely. I sent a shout out to link with people in my local area and the response has been uplifting. I think that the Girl Guides issue has really opened eyes to what is going on. Parents who would not normally be "activists" are suddenly being made aware of the implications of potential changes to the law with regard to their children.

I feel that awareness of the issues is becoming more mainstream and whatever you think about Jacob Rees-Mogg if he is taking it seriously, others will and will feel bolder about saying what they really think.

I think the overwhelmingly negative response to the Sefton NEU's 'a womans place' T shirt is encouraging. twitter.com/SeftonNUT I hope the link works,

A lot of us hadn't even heard about the GRA issues until recently. I have told a few women friends and it took some time to convince them I wasn't playing a joke on them. Then they were horrified.

But I am starting to think that on this issue we have to learn to work with people who might not otherwise be our natural political allies.

It is hard to see the wood for the trees when you have been battling away for so long but don't despair.

I told a friend about #ManFriday and the swimming thing. She had no idea. She swims daily and has had one or two encounters with aggressive men in the pool. She talked to the manager at her (private) leisure centre and he had no idea. He has signed the petition and hopefully is taking it up with his HO. Friend has written to Swim England about it.

Here is the correct link twitter.com/SeftonNUT/status/979996991680806912

There is a thread about it on this forum.

I am open about my views as gender critical and no one has disagreed with me, i think the whole thing is falling apart re the trans women are women claptrap but the overall state of women’s rights is pretty crap and will take a lot longer e.g. rape convictions and attitudes.
