Channel 5 have a record for this: they ensured that India Willoughby (the first to be kicked off Celebrity Big Brother) exited the house to an unheard of 'silent' crowd response - no boos allowed unlike every other exit in the history of the programme.
The response that IW got when interviewed on exit was fawning and completely ignored the bullying narcissistic behaviour which got them booted out first. Channel 5 have actively contributed to the toxic delusionary atmosphere which promotes lies and falsehoods in the interest of equality I'm afraid.

So encouraged to read this. I saw Anne do the apology on Friday though and wonder how much she was told; would she have gone along with it if she knew about Matthew's protest? I like to think she would have shown solidarity.

He's probably more educated on the topic than most since the wright stuff regularly trawl MN threads for topics for the show, which is ironic if he claims to hate MN. Journalist is stretching it a bit though, he's a TV presenter.

Telling the truth should not be restricted to journalists and people with Asperger’s. It is terrifying how quickly compelled speech is being implemented in this country.

I think it's also significant that the DM is actually allowing unmoderated comments on this - don't they usually moderate any trans stuff so heavily that there are usually only about 2 comments?

Glancing down the comments, the vast majority appear to agree with Matthew on this. I noticed that someone replied to this one:

He is a journalist. He wrote for the Mirror (I think) for years before he got his TV show which he got on the back of his comments column

If this is true Matthew Wright has gone massively up in my estimation. I really like Anne. She's intelligent and thoughtful. I hope this doesn't harm her career.

Can we just pause to say fair play to PL for saying she had not taken offence at this. I don’t like her, but she had an opportunity to stir and play the victim and she has apparently been quite reasonable about something here for once
