I know- I’m sorry it’s the daily fail. But having read many of the threads, specifically in this section. I found this interesting. Transgender M-F who regardless of hormone changes, believes she’s better suited to continue fighting against males, and has ‘won’ the right to. Does this mean that there should be a mixed MMA section where women should be slowed to choose who the are matched up with? Others have chosen to fight in the women’s MMA league as their ‘right’ as a woman. Should both genders be allowed to make that choice, born that way, or having chosen to transition?

Well this person is a man so they should be competing with other men.

Women should compete with women.

It is up to the sports regulatory body to decide what drugs are allowed for competitors but I would argue that performance enhancing drugs (like testosterone) shouldn't be allowed. Presumably female hormones are allowed for female competitors (eg birth control) so might be hard to forbid male competitors from taking them.

Sports are sex segregated due to the physical differences between men and women - different bone structure and density; muscle mass...

The reason this person won against a male is because they are biologically male.

That fighter has been open about being physiologically male and that it wouldn't be fair to make female fighters fight them.

Unlike Fallon Fox who was happy to put a woman in a coma.

I think it just proves the point that transwomen are men. Even after taking female hormones.

What "thoughts" are you looking for. Here is a sports person (and I'm using that term deliberately) who is behaving in a sporting manner and upholding fair play.

Is her sport federation denying her the right to do so ? That would be an issue.

Sorry- thoughts maybe wasn’t the Correct terminology. An interest in if this is fair. There is muscle memeory and training, but (I’d assume) that with hormone blockers and female hormones, she would, biologically be weaker than the men. However she has trained her whole
Life as a man which would give an advantage. I guess when I saw the article I was a bit on the fence. I think it’s fairer to female MMA fighters, but also not sure if the men should be forced to fight against someone who has transitioned (at least partially. Don’t no the extent of that) to female. Although obviously it’s MMA and he had to accept the fight against her

What disadvantage does it create for the male fighters? She and they trained as men.

Are you thinking that because she has lost some strength it is potentially unfair to the men by putting them in a position where they could unwittingly cause injury?

Or do you mean "unfair" because a (trans) woman beats them?

I think she deserves praise for the stance she has taken.
