A tweet from Sophie Walker today - maybe she's beginning to listen to the strength of feeling amongst women?

A flicker of hope regarding WEP and Trans issues?

I've just liked her tweet as an offer of support.

Datun · 10/03/2018 18:09

hackmum

Yes she was. And listened until almost the end.

Personally, that kind of comment sounds to me like a statement.

This issue is fairly black-and-white, in terms of what you are, or are not, allowed to say.

The most interesting thing about this is a soon as you tentatively say something, you get such a massive backlash, that you go from tentative, to full on terf, based on that very backlash.

I'm not sure if she is aware of that. But she soon will be.

Me too. (No pun intended)

Is this person behind all the WEP Trans stuff ?

On twitter having a dig at Nimco Ali the other day, I wonder if Antonia made the original complaint about Heather B-E ?

QuentinSummers · 10/03/2018 19:53

Dawn has an interesting twitter thread going at the moment where she claims that no women except terf nazis have a problem with self ID
This is the Labour party line. It is what little OJ said. It's what LM said in interview. They are still trying to shame women by calling us bigots and outsiders. I think the dam has broken though. Too late for that.

UpstartCrow · 10/03/2018 20:24

What a bizarre blog. Why would you join a political party without knowing where they stand on your main issue?

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 10/03/2018 20:27

Well I get the outrage about the Moral Maze of course. But I'm now a single issue voter and I like voting. So unless I'm going to spin my own party out of magic hay I'm prepared to forgive and forget.

BlindYeo · 10/03/2018 20:58

Come on WEP. You'd have my vote in a nanosecond if you went full TERF.

Woman = adult human female. It's not hard. It's just the simple truth.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 10/03/2018 21:01

What CertainHalfDesertedStreets said.

I'd need to be pretty damn certain they had seen the error of their ways though, after what they put HBE through

hipsterfun · 10/03/2018 21:28

Turbo-contrition needed.

And I’d need to hear a bit more about having the backs of non-middle class women.

AskBasil · 11/03/2018 08:59

"This is an existential fight over whether the female half of the human race is to be permitted to exist as a distinct class of persons in law and policy"

It cannot be repeated too many times. We almost ought to have it as a banner at the top of any trans thread.

Wanderingwomb · 11/03/2018 09:09

"This is an existential fight over whether the female half of the human race is to be permitted to exist as a distinct class of persons in law and policy"

WEP if you can state the above AND publicly apologise to HBE you have mine and my partner's votes.

JaimesGoldenHand · 11/03/2018 09:14

If WEP continued down this route, I would vote for them. They are an existing political party and have all the infrastructure in place. We would be daft to overlook them because of the past IF this latest development represents a change of policy.
