I saw this the other day as I'm a mountain biker. There's a good debate going (by female mountain bikers) on the MtbChix&trails Facebook group. For the record, downhill mountain biking is absolutely dependent on strength, particularly upper body.

This is the hill I will die on. This is nothing more than cheating, in the most cynical manipulative way and if left unchecked it will seriously harm women's sports.

This makes me SO mad. I've done competitive sports all my adult life, and had to fight against expectations of what women can and should do, and we only JUST started to get somewhere with that, and now this comes along and shits all over it. How can these people look at themself in the mirror and not see a cheat? Pathetic.

Men never wanted to share politics or sports with women. The overwhelming hatred men bring to discussions of women in sports or politics make this obvious.
Transgender advocacy has provided an opportunity to drive women out of both sports and politics.

The debate on the Facebook page is at least open and the more open debate (involving men) the better to bring this into the mainstream.

There are some very openly GC women on there too. Of course they'll be the ones to feel the TRA backlash.

Now I am far from a conservative but this guy has it exactly right: "if you want to transition to a boy, great, but maybe you have to give up some things, that you can't have everything".

Trans want everything. Their narcissism dictates it.

I seriously don't get how this is being allowed! Say a female Olympic gymnast with a slim body and a flat chest gets bum and boob implants because of the immense pressure on women to resemble Kim Kardashian. Say that the surgery affects her performance a bit because it alters the shape and dynamics of her body. Does she then get to select a category from the paralympics to elbow her way into?

Sadly it is this kind of real world scenario that has to happen before the wider majority of people "get" what it all means (the ones who call us transphobic bigots, but who actually agree with us on the ramifications, they just haven't bothered to look past the headlines).

But it may well to be too late. Thanks a bunch.
