Did anyone see this on the weekend? www.thetimes.co.uk/article/my-mum-murdered-my-dad-it-was-his-fault-0l9hg955q

The campaign group Justice for Women are organising a protest outside the court to show support for her. She's trying to get her conviction reduced to manslaughter.

I don't know about this individual case though I feel for anyone affected by domestic abuse.

I find it interesting that this suddenly becomes an issue at the same time as an attempt to push through a law that means intact men can declare themselves women on their own say so.

The dynamics of abusive men's use of coercive control against their partners is well documented and known by those who have experienced it or worked in the area and observed it - see Lundy Bancroft.

The type of man who would do this is exactly the type of man who would love to be able to declare he is now a woman and claim people should support him and decriminalise him after smashing his partner to death with a hammer.

What is this organisation's view on Self-ID btw?

I heard her son being interviewed on the today programme this morning. Fully support the appeal, this man sounds like the kind of monster women post on the relationships board. If they mentioned the fact that she was suicidal afterwards,I didn't hear it.

Dramatriangle they are a radical feminist group - founded by Julie Bindel

Am possibly becoming slightly paranoid. Am still fairly sure Julie Bindel is sane. Thank you for reassurance.

I read abut her on feminist current a while back

Such double standards after reading about that man who killed three of his partners and was jailed for manslaughter for the first two. Women are judged much more harshly - provocation for men is nagging or teasing about infidelity, but years of abuse are not taken into account for women.

Coercive control wasn't legally recognised when she was first convicted which is why she needs to get an appeal to use that as a defence - but the last time she tried she was rejected which is why she needs people to put pressure on the courts.

Yes Quentin women to appear to be judged much more harshly by the courts and by the media. Women who kill partners after being abused are described as evil whilst men who kill partners always have a history of being abusive and are 'loving family men' etc.
