Discussion thread regarding porn <trigger warning - contains distressing content & links>

Following a recent thread regarding porn & its detrimental effect on sexual attitudes, particularly amongst teens, one poster suggested we should have a further thread to continue the discussion.

I don't want to link to the thread until I've got permission from the OP of the previous thread, just in case, for any reason, she would rather the other thread fell from view.

I should add, I'm not an authority on this subject; I was horrified at many of the links in the previous thread. I was still under the impression that a lot of porn was significantly "softer" & lot closer to what it was 15-20 years ago. An attitude I suspect many other posters shared.

I am adding a trigger warning from the start. Please, anyone reading this thread, be aware that any links may potentially be distressing. However, I would ask that if anyone does post a link with potentially distressing content, they clearly state this.

Correction, it's a US organisation and seems pretty big.

If you dig through the articles on there, there are many links to outside research articles or sites compiling them. E.g:

Resources for parents and teens linked on the site too.

Awful thread on twitter, but worthy of including re animation being funded by patreon.

This journalist has been interesting me as she seems to tackle some really big things.

From the twitter thread this article about animation. (I think) It references a type of animation I know Stacy Dooley did a piece on in Japan whereby cartoon mags are allowed to depict paedophilia - I know this is seen as an issue over there.

From the article - their reasoning: (baring in mind the dark fantasies are very extreme.)

*We aim to make movies for responsible adults...this medium bypasses the seedier facets of the pornography industry. In live action movies the viewer never really knows if the actresses are being exploited, especially in rape fantasies.

"We animate digital models in a safe environment, and the voice talent records from the safety of their own homes, which means that our medium is the ideal platform for exploring these darker themes with a clear conscience," Darkcrow said.

(Last line)
... they assure fans that they would never fully stop doing non-consensual scenes.*
