and yes, it's a trans-woman. Joe Clifford named by the Saltire Society. Being interviewed about the suffrage and the struggle for the right to vote "we fought for".
Always liked to look feminine and play with dolls of course......

At least this particular person has done something (written a shedload of plays, apparently) rather than being feted just for being brave enough to be a Woman.

(I'm waiting for my award for being brave enough to be a Woman, some day. Fair's fair.)

TheGoldenBough · 13/02/2018 08:35

I knew it would be a man too.

TheGoldenBough · 13/02/2018 08:36

What has he done though?

It must be pretty amazing if it is considered to make him more outstanding than all the women.

Terftastic · 13/02/2018 10:55

I just googled it - she has spent 50 years as a man, and 9 as a woman, but always knew she was a woman.

Those last 9 years - she did "woman" better (more outstandingly!) than all the other notable women of Scotland.

Sorry - I bear her no personal ill will - I wish her well.

But FFS. Why are women everywhere not in UPROAR about this? It's happening in every walk of life - women are being usurped by males who just "feel like" women.

Totally agree. But with our mainstream media (particularly C4 and the BBC, the Guardian and the Momentum- run Labour Party) being 100% on board and in fact promoting it , complaining or raising concerns is like pissing in the wind.

Check out Pippa Bunce
www.out-standing.org/heroes/2017-top-50-women/
The FT awards for outstanding women in business
Head of Global Markets Technology Core Engineering Integrations Components
Credit Suisse
Pips took the conscious decision to be ‘out’ at work as gender fluid to embrace and advocate the importance of authenticity as well as to shine a light on the power and diversity of women in the workplace. Multiple aspects of our identity, including gender identity/expression, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability and religion influence our experiences at work. Our sex or gender may be the same, but our identities, our successes and our struggles are different and it is for this reason why Pips is proud to be a female champion in business. She is a member of the European Women’s Network/IT Women’s Council and had many external publications relating to gender equality published. Additionally, she has been integral in providing reverse mentoring to management board members of the firm and is co-lead of the LGBT & Ally program at Credit Suisse where she places much importance on intersectionality and how the voices of all types of women and our allies need to be heard to drive forward gender equality – our differences make us stronger and diversity should be celebrated, not tolerated. Pips is also a regular panellist/speaker on gender equality, and often interviewed by external publications on the topic.

Pippa thinks that women who don't agree with him will never amount to anything.

'I'm waiting for my award for being brave enough to be a Woman, some day'

Same here. It's bloody hard work you know, being an actual woman . You have to listen to endless shit about ladybrain and feelz and are expected to nod and smile along like a good little ciswoman Hmm

Fucking sick of this shit

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 13/02/2018 14:08

Oh, thank God we have men to show us how we should be womaning...

Hmm
TheNoseyProject · 13/02/2018 14:11

FFS. I’ve just come out of an important meeting where, of course, there was a (woman) who brought up trans rights. It’s so vaguely connected to the point if the meeting and no one brought up religion or race or any other protected characteristics. Sigh. I was an observer so couldn’t bring things up myself.

Collidascope · 13/02/2018 14:16

The suffragette stuff is such a fundamental difference between TIMs and women. All of us with xx chromosomes KNOW that, had we been born over a hundred years earlier, we wouldn't have been allowed to vote. We all know that time is the only difference between us and the women who died in childbirth, were raped by husbands and had no legal recourse, were treated as property, weren't allowed to own property or take out mortgages alone, were expected to stay virgins until marriage, couldn't have jobs without a man's permission, etc, etc. A TIM knows that he'd never have been in that situation. He'd have been one of the people benefitting from this situation. It amazes me that in all this celebration over the 100th anniversary of the suffragettes' (partial) victory, this pesky fact isn't being pointed out: trans women, this doesn't apply to you.

RubyLennoxExists · 14/02/2018 12:56

Does anyone ever see trans women on Twitter or elsewhere bigging up "cis" women or are they only interested in the ones born with a cock? Cos the ones born with a cock have it sooo much harder don't they? Hmm
