Suffragettes - recommend me some reading

I’m ashamed by how little I know beyond #100years and whatever I picked up from the Mr Selfridge tv show... Can someone please point me at a good history book?

'Things A Bright Girl Can Do' by Sally Nichols. It's aimed at older teens, I'm on my 40's and enjoying it. I know a middling amount about Women's Suffrage, but this book is particularly good on the class distinctions - most working class men and women didn't get the vote until 1928!

Covers a lot more than suffragettes, but Vera Brittain's autobiography starting before WWI, Testament of Youth.

And googling for that, I've discovered the Guardian has reissued a lot of the articles she wrote for it (at the time the Manchester Guardian ) in the 1920s! Treasure trove!

There is a young adult book called Bring Out The Banners by Geoffrey Trease. It was published in 1994.

There's a new book out tomorrow as well: Rise Up, Women: The Remarkable Lives of the Suffragettes. Saw it reviewed in the Times and it looks excellent.
