To highlight or not highlight (articles for MP)

I have printed out a wodge of articles and news items to send to my MP with a follow up letter about GRA, on the basis that it is more likely for him to sit down with a coffee and read paper pages than click a ton of links on a screen; and also because the heft adds weight to the issue. (He is generally against the Bill anyway, but I want to give him more factual ammo and real life scenarios to go back to Government with.)

Question: should I go through and highlight the really pertinent sections/wording to make sure he sees those bits; or leave it plain and risk him only skimming the docs and not really getting the point?

No easy answer but I'd highlight. I'd also 'cull' the list and keep the best articles with the most impact?

I'd also, where at all possible avoid click bait type articles and try and use stuff from a reputableish source of an article from the Times would have more weight than one from Tumblr...

I work for and am married to an MP.

Yes- highlight. They have to read masses of stuff daily, and if there's lots there's a risk he may not read it all. If you have highlighted key bits, then it's easier for them to skim through but will get better idea of main messages.

OK thanks. They are all articles I've saved from here - so a lot from The Times, Medium etc. All reputable I think.

Should my MP pop into his office tomorrow, he'll find a hefty wodge of nicely marked up reading material for him to review.

Aka: dropped off the packet of articles today, with a covering letter that re-emphasised that the real-life implications of the GRA are unacceptable and need dealing with properly, not just waving through in a fit of "right on" by J Greening.

I will post any significant response by him and and when (although suspect it will be similar one-liner as last time)

Do you have a list of these articles you could PM me? I am going to tackle this with my own mp in the new year and don't know where to start.

Sorry @KrisCringleWinterWonderland I was printing them as and when I read them*, and then collated them all into one pack this week.

There are several threads with letters we have written, which you can crib from though.

(* Annoyingly, it was only when I was manually highlighting the printouts I realised some of the copy has been truncated at each paper page break. But the main gist of it was still understandable so I left it like that.)
