This came up on Jack Monroe's timeline earlier:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-42364991

Sheila's Story is basically the words written on the photo of 'Sheila' and her partner in the photo. Somehow, magically, with support and advice, abusers can learn to stop abusing and women can be safe!

Gosh! If only the 113 women murdered last year by their partners and husbands had followed Essex Police's sensible advice Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

I'm fucking furious about this

So furious you think it's a good idea to split MN discussion away from the thread already running?

WinnieTheW0rm · 15/12/2017 17:47

Sorry, too blunt.

But there is an active thread

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3112034-Essex-Police-helping-women-to-stay-with-abusers

and on this one, I think there are advantages to keeping it on one thread (yes, I know people can start as many threads as they like in whatever topic they wish)

I'm guessing exactly zero women's groups were consulted here.

It's utterly irresponsible to suggest that 'happy ever after' is a realistic option for families in which there is domestic violence.

FFS Winnie - that's not just blunt, it's rude.

Having said that, I should have checked more thoroughly.
