Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Do trans groups have a duty of care towards vulnerable young women (transmen)

This has been on my mind since the awful rape of a young trans man a month or so ago.

I have a young female relative who is trans and I worry about her safely as she identifies as a man and often sleeps in hostels, has a chaotic lifestyle etc.

She had ASD, severe depression and is often (self instigated) isolated from her very loving and supportive family.

My worry is her belief in her 'maleness' makes her feel immune to all the things any but especially vulnerable young women are at risk of. Mainly male violence and sexual violence.

What struck my from the young trans mans rape account in the news was her unwavering self belief that it shouldn't be happening To her because she was a man and even pleaded with her attacker saying "I'm a man".

Do any less militant trans groups provide safety training or have any kind of duty of care to young trans men or is it another case of 'biological women' are not their concern?
