Feminism Is for Everybody: Passionate Politics by Bell hooks is a good starter. Unfortunately its a bit pricey.

The Man Who Has It All is an amusing take.

Would Robert Webb's new book be any good?

(I admit to have only half listened to it on the radio - it will still be on iplayer www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b092cnpl )

Your son may be a bit young for it at the moment but I reckon Robert Jensen's book must be good. I haven't read it but I've read loads of his articles and essays and he's great.

I just read How not to be a boy by Robert Webb. Funny and warm and great messages about healthy masculinity.

Wheresmytaco · 28/09/2017 12:33

I'd suggest How to be a boy as well.

I think most people feel they raise their children properly. Unfortunately the rest of the world has a say as well.

It's proven that talking about and discussing why racism is wrong is more effective in combating racist ideas in children than simply not being racist.
