Can anyone recommend their absolute favourite feminist books to me, I want to learn more about feminism. Susan Faludi's backlash is on my reading list, any others?

I found "The Equality Illusion" by Kay Banyard a very easy read. I gave my copy to one of my sixth formers last year and forgot to get it back. She enjoyed it too!

It's probably not thought of as a feminist book, but I also really liked "Half the Sky" by Sheryl WuDunn and Nicholas Kristoff. She did a very good TEDTalk here.

I listened to the lot on radio 4 iplayer. I felt it was unusual for any more mainstreamy book, including one by a man, to highlight the damaging effects of ott masculinity, domestic violence and 'women's gender' roles and gender roles in general. I like the way it shows how young boys can be affected by or forced into being a certain way that has the potential to do so much damage to women when they're older, unless they come to their senses. But, it's feminism lite, for starters, probably for those who don't think feminism affects them, is important to their lives or is anything to do with them. Probably not the thread for this though.
