I recently caught up with series 1 before series 2 started in the last couple of weeks.

Has anyone watched it?

I'm not sure what my point is tbh, though I thought it had a lot of sexism/misogyny in a way you don't often see portrayed. As in it portrayed the misogyny, it wasn't a misogynist show. It's maybe a bit like Broadchurch S3, in that most of the men come across as a bit shit.

I'm really rambling and inarticulate here, but I'd be interested in other people's opinions.

I think I know what you mean. Without trying to give away too many spoilers (but with a warning that there may be for those who haven't seen it)..

I found the scene in the bar in the first series quite powerful from that perspective (when Robin is playing darts), as well as the general behaviour of the subordinate police offers towards her and the sexual harassment at work that she endures in both series. The first series obviously resolved the sexual harassment in a definite way regarding whether she was misinterpreting things.

I found it quite refreshing to see misogyny at a sometimes fairly subtle level portrayed. So many television programmes ignore it, when it is clearly an extra layer of difficulty that women have to face in their professions and everyday lives. It's the level of misogyny that is difficult to articulate that I find most disturbing - the otherwise apparently "good" men who are nevertheless capable of not taking a hint or who secretly view women in a particular way.

There were some men who I liked in both series. Interestingly, they were mostly in relationships with very strong women (e.g. Robin's mother's partner, and Mary's father in the second series - though he is also a slightly complicated character).

Yes. Re the sexual harassment I would agree and then in the 2nd series where the police officer keeps asking her out and then the other one tries to be helpful in explaining "that's how he is" and the "yes no" as opposed to a "no no". It makes your skin crawl a bit but it's so accurate.
