I was watching the handmaid's tale - the episode where commander Waterford is in the back of the limo with the other 2 men from the sons of Jacob, discussing (iirc) how things are going to work with the handmaids and the wives etc and I think at point Waterford suggests calling the monthly rape the ceremony because the wives'll love that shit, or something like that.
Anyway, because whilst I've read about people saying oh it's often only men in those rooms, discussing women's rights/reproductive rights/abortions etc and I've seen it with Trump and that executive order he did straight away banning abortion funding overseas (and there was that picture of the 7 men) it was only in that moment that I thought "oh, that's what it's like when there are no women in that room/meeting".
Has anyone had moments like this? I thought it would be interesting for people to share moments where things clicked for them. Or is it embarrassing that it took a TV show for me to really see it?
