Apparently today is "Trans Day of Visibility" #tdov. For those on Twitter there also seems to be some people using #DontTransKids to coincide with this. Might be worth supporting if you are interested in more open discussion about transgender issues surrounding the treatment of kids in particular.

India can be cross about men who frock up but when women mention them they become a myth? Such a strange article, I expect her to delete her tweets as other transwomen are accusing her of trans elitism.

PencilsInSpace · 31/03/2017 23:23

OMG! India has went full TERF! 😱

Grin Trans people reach peak trans, there is hope.

I think the whole thing will unravel over the next 2-3 years and we can get back to being women and extending an honorary welcome to transwomen who are unthreatening and dysphoric.

The tide is turning.

India, I don't want you in my lav either because you are chock-full of male privilege and not a woman.

MorrisZapp · 31/03/2017 23:49

There's a video on Facebook by HSBC bank announcing they have introduced ten gender titles in order to include everyone.

Thousands of comments, I'd say seventy percent koolaid and thirty percent critical.

I'm frantically liking the witty critical ones.

This trans free-for-all is playing into the hands of people like Jenni Murray and Germaine Greer – who use the ‘men in dresses’ myth to spread their poison, and encourage derision of women like me."

Except it was exactly people like India, in fact it was India, who Jenni was talking about.

If India thinks she is going to recruit gender critical people, she is more deluded than I thought.

Datun · 01/04/2017 16:16

This is a report from Gendertrender.

Almost exactly the same as India Willoughby's complaint about transvestites giving transwomen a bad name.

He wants to be the gatekeeper of women's spaces. This was a guy for 54 years, fathered children, left his wife, (who comments and is now homeless), and fits the classic profile of an autogynephile.

Except he also goes on to say:

"The trans-female community needs to have women who are beyond reproach, who are respectful and graceful break the gender barrier, and then the others will be accepted".

Wow, Datun. That is so close IW could be accused of plagiarism.

venusinscorpio · 01/04/2017 16:44

Very interesting Datun.

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 01/04/2017 17:20

I'm positive I've heard this argument before somewhere...

Maybe if we're lucky the movement will eat itself while the likes of the Women & Equalities Committee, WEP and Stonewall get into a flat spin trying to work out whose side they're on.

Trans Day of Visibility
Datun · 01/04/2017 17:24

We must teach them that we are not a threat. But to do that, we must look, act and live the part of the women we are

Women must be educated to see that we are not threatening, and the way we must do that is to keep lying 100% of the time.

Datun · 01/04/2017 17:29

It makes me shiver that he states lying to women is the best way to get them to roll over.

paddypants13 · 01/04/2017 18:17

I love the fact that it's women who are at fault for complaining about the actions of men who enter women's spaces for their own gratification! Brilliant. Of course it's not the poor ickle men's fault, it's women's fault for making a fuss.

Women know your place! Angry

ErrolTheDragon · 02/04/2017 08:42

Trans Visibility day? Hm, the Sunday Times has a piece about an attempt by Oxford students to 'no platform' Jenni Murray, so I suppose they're making visible the TRA agenda to curb free speech.

AnotherQuoll · 02/04/2017 09:13

Trans Day of Visibility, being the 31st of March, also happened to be the day transactivist, Dana Rivers, was to attend a plea hearing for the triple homicide of Orlando lesbian couple Charlotte Reed, Patricia Wright and their son, Benny Diambu-Wright.

TinselAngel · 02/04/2017 20:22

Hang on, it doesn't seem five minutes ago they were saying being Transgender is a "spectrum". How is one supposed to keep up?

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 02/04/2017 20:34

Actually, India's going right against Stonewall's statement that the trans umbrella covers practically bloody everybody.

AltheaThoon · 02/04/2017 21:05

So back in the day when India was living a double life - male, with wife and kids in the week and 'female' at weekends...Was he, by his own standards, just 'a bloke in a dress'? Or would they argue that they were female because they've always been female?

It's all very confusing.

Interesting that IW has gone TERF.
