What would put you off becoming a politician?

Was thinking about the online abuse Diane Abbott has had to endure, and regardless of what you think of her, it made me think that there's no way I'd want to go into politics if that's what I'd have to put up with. Feels like it's yet another way to get women to STFU yet we desperately need more good women in politics, otherwise things will never change.

So wondering if anyone would consider a career in politics and if not, why not?

I should expand, that's the one thing putting me off, I've been very politically active on a local level for some time and other would love to give it a go but the thought of people from my past crawling out of the woodwork terrifies me. Don't get me wrong, I've never done anything illegal or wrong, I was just very promiscuous.

Like forever the thought of my past being in the front page.

The former is not enough to mitigate for the latter.

I'm not brave enough, I change my ideas about things too often and I don't think it would be good to swim with sharks.
