I've heard a lot about Donald trump on the news recently and what an evil man he is. However, after watching some of his speeches I've found myself leaning towards some of his views. Does this mean I can no longer call myself a feminist even though I share some of both views?

Racists often try to win women over to their side by emphasizing that Muslim men are misogynist, but any feminist worth her salt should be able to see that racist men tend to be misogynist, too.

I'd rather have some men in the country hate me than have my own government hate me.

So, a misogynist who promises to ban some misogynists from immigrating if you vote for him as president ... not a good idea.

Discriminating against people purely on the grounds of a particular characteristic, be it race, religion, sex, hair colour, shoe size, whatever, is ridiculous. I could not support anyone who holds such views about any group of people, regardless of their feelings towards any group to which I may belong. Donald Trump claims to be trying to solve a problem, but marginalising people IS the problem, imagine how it must feel to be a young Muslim growing up in America right now. I think the poem 'First they came' says it better than I ever could ....

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
