They are in the same circle of friends, and she is mostly over him so she can be amused at having picked his name out of the hat. But she doesn't want to waste the opportunity.

You would have to be careful the WEP style donations couldn't be used to show future girls friends "see what a feminist i am, these are the style of present people give me."

She still hasn't decided but she's asked me to thank you all for all the ideas. We've had such a laugh together and it's given her and me a real boost.

On a serious note- isn't it depressing that men are doing this? It's not the first time I've seen it happen- so cynical and manipulative.

Or add a passage on the donation certificate (if you print it out yourself) where it says in which ways he is not actually a feminist. Small print so he doesn't notice immediately, maybe.

@Bertrand: Yes, it is annoying. But on the other hand, if you pay no attention to what they say, only to what they do, you can rather easily weed out the liars. In my experience, at least.
