My 19 year old dd has just started to read The Woman's Room....

on my suggestion. I am very nervous. What do you think she'll make of it?

I reread it recently and while it is quite dated, it's still amazing. I hope she enjoys it

I think she'll be outraged and astonished that within her lifetime, there are women who have experienced what Myra in that book experienced.

(It is Myra isn't it? I can't remember, it's about 30 years since I read it as a teenager.)

I think it will make her more interested in female history.

There are four books I read as a teenager/young adult which really made (and still make) me think about who I am and what I believe - To Kill a Mockingbird, Animal Farm, Catch22 and The Women's Room.

As Amethyst24 says it is very dated but still very relevant. I really hope your DD enjoys it Hakluyt.

I read about half of it. I liked the housewife bit- it felt like a fictionalised version of the feminine mystique.

But I kind of lost interest after she went to Uni. Maybe if your 19yo is at Uni she will find it more relatable.
