I used to think that the world didn't need feminists.

I realise I was wrong. Very wrong, but this is a new place for me to be in! Can anyone recommend any light reading as a nice introduction to feminism? (I am still in a new baby fog, wont be able to concentrate on anything too heavy)

'Female Chauvinist Pigs' by Ariel Levy is the first feminist book that I read - I finished it in a day, couldn't put it down!

Cordelia Fine Delusions of Gender
Kat Banyard The Equality Illusion

Yes to both of EBear's suggestions. Read The Equality Illusion first. That's definitely readable, if depressing! Delusions of Gender is great but a bit bogged down with references. You can skip chapters though.

Eve Was Framed - Helena Kennedy
How to be a Woman (light read) - Caitlin Moran
Wifework

And the above.

Everyday Sexism - Laura Bates

Everyday Sexism is also online - everydaysexism.com/ - but the book organises it into themes.

Thanks everyone, just ordered some sample chapters to my Kindle and will have a nice relaxing bath this evening Smile
