They can't stand it can they? The head of the BBC has been pulled in to speak to MPs about something to do with HSBC and they're all bullying her and telling her she should resign. We finally get some women in top positions and they're ganged up on and dragged in to explain themselves to the current bunch of fat white men. She should tell them all to piss off. Fuming!!

OP posts:
AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 19:34

Err, all members of HSBC board are being grilled, and rightly so.

I don't like the style but I don't think it's sexist in this case; I think a man with a position on the BBC Trust would get the same treatment.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 19:37

And the person I saw grilling her was a woman.

Not a single banker, regulator etc has been jailed so far. I doubt HSBC will break the duck.

fentonisdog · 11/03/2015 19:42

Why are you all being sexist against MissyMelMo?

The head of the BBC is clearly being singled out because she's a woman. It's a disgrace. And anyone who disagrees is a sexist manpig.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 19:50

Go away, Fenton. Reported.

AICM · 11/03/2015 20:14

Sorry but sometimes when I read the way some women talk about men I feel more and more sorry for men.

For the record fenton I disagree with the OP.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 20:16

AICM, given the way some men talk about women, where does that leave you?

I disagree with the OP. I don't think that means the balance has suddenly shifted though.

AICM · 11/03/2015 20:56

I accept your point AK. The balance hasn't shifted.

But I do think that as feminists like fenton go about their lives perfectly decent men might get an earful when they didn't deserve it. It's situations like that I'm referring to.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:03

Oh, you were objecting to Fenton? He/she was a troll, not a feminist!

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:04

Oh, hmm, MNHQ said they'd deleted.

OutsSelf · 11/03/2015 21:04

Wasn't Fenton being goady and pisstaking AICM? Like taking the piss out of feminists rather than claiming to be one?

I quite like Margaret Hodge and agree with the pints she raised to wosname, her from the BBC. I think it is likely the Tories wouldn't have described her as bulling if she had (a) been a man and (b) been talking to one.

OutsSelf · 11/03/2015 21:05

Ha ha, points not pints.

AICM · 11/03/2015 21:06

Maybe. If it was goady I missed it.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:06

Thanks outs, couldn't think who the politica was!

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:08

If anyone posts like that on FWR, I just hit advanced search immediately. 98 times out of 100, they've been a member less than a day and only ever posted in FWR.

As we are always told, you don't have to be a feminist to post here!

AuntieStella · 11/03/2015 21:08

No-one should be exempt from being interviewed by a parliamentary committee because of their sex.

And they can be brutal - remember David Kelly?

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:09

For when Fenton does get deleted, his/her first ever post said anyone who disagreed with the OP was obviously a sexist man pig.

Oh, the wit.

OutsSelf · 11/03/2015 21:17

What, AICM, you think that is a genuine post representing an actual feminist position? Confused

Want2bSupermum · 11/03/2015 21:24

I think she should be pulled up. I don't think she should be forced to resign though. I don't hear of reports about her being incompetent in her current role.

I think our MPs have a bit of soul searching to do. They need to tighten up inland revenue. No one here in the US messes with the IRS because they have teeth like an alligator's (ie once they are onto you they clamp on and don't let go). You pay your taxes on time, in full because they will come after you no matter the $ amount or public profile. The IRS treat everyone with respect but approach all who have not been honest with pretty equal contempt. Its a fair approach IMO and why you find less issues with people evading taxes here in the US compared to the UK.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:29

Yup. Same with the SEC and the FCA.

I'm surprised too AICM, you're round these parts a fair bit, I'm sure you've seen other bellendious trolls?

AICM · 11/03/2015 21:39

Seems a bit more obvious now I've thought about it.

I think I reacted a bit too quick to fenton.

The OP's comment though is pretty bad. The 'fat' part was unnecessary. If men throw that word at women we wouldn't stand for it.

PetulaGordino · 11/03/2015 21:39

I'm with knickerful on this. Women are as accountable professionally as men. And I can't believe anyone thought fenton's post was anything but goady. I'm in two minds about the OP too tbh, but will give benefit of the doubt

PetulaGordino · 11/03/2015 21:41

Well AICM no one has agreed with the OP so far except for a goader. So what does that tell you?

AICM · 11/03/2015 21:45

Pet What's the point in your question? I've admitted I was wrong about the goady comment.

Viviennemary · 11/03/2015 21:45

If it's the woman I saw questioned the other day she was as slippery as an eel with her answers. The lot of them should be put under a microscope male or female.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 21:49

Some men throw many worse words at women in the press and on talk boards.

I don't agree with it here but I'm not picking up cudgels.
