Apparently, the convicted rapists sister is going to be on Big Brother... She wants to use it as a platform to clear his name Hmm

I'm all for a petition but I also think it's worth hanging fire until it's been confirmed by C5 sort of thing. I don't think there's any point giving more publicity (which translates into ratings) to her or the programme until they announce she's in it. Otherwise (sadly) it may make her look like a more attractive proposition.

SurlyCue · 11/03/2015 20:31

Surely there is dodgy legal ground for CH5 in this? I mean they are facilitating/enabling, encouraging? the emotional distress of his victim surely by doing this? If his sister has said openly she is doing it to clear his name (she cant- she has no authority to do that- she is not the justice system) then Ch5 are actively participating in what she is doing. If he hadnt been found guilty i could accept that they allowed her the platform to discuss it but he has been found guilty by the courts, he has been convicted and sentenced. It is now officially a fact that he is guilty of rape. There is no way to "clear his name" as BB is not a court room or a trial so surely all it serves to achieve is more distress for his victim? Isnt there a legal standing that prevents that sort of thing?

Namechanged101 · 11/03/2015 20:32

Very good point Lonny think you are right

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 20:33

Good idea, Lonny

Surly - I doubt it unless it's libellous.

Koalafications · 11/03/2015 20:35

Good point , Lonny

Not sure re: legal standing but I agree with your post Surly

I have just read both and nowhere does it say SHE has said she will use it as a platform - it was the comment if a source. As much as I despise him I also don't think she can be blamed for how she has acted - is she not just another victim of his character?? She believes him like his fiancée. Stupid, yes. Evil, no.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 20:46

Piece, she has verbally abused the victim and may have been one of those found guilty of naming her.

It's possible to claim innocence without abusing the other side.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/03/2015 20:48

No, it was his cousin who named the victim. And his brother who filmed the incident, IIRC.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 11/03/2015 20:55

In a way I almost hope she does get in. Then everyone in the country will see what a fucking horrible character she is. She is incapable of rational thought and extremely abusive.

OTOH. The rapist's poor bloody victim will no doubt be outed yet again on the back of it. So best Kylie doesn't really.

AskBasil · 11/03/2015 22:09

Am guessng BB are looking for a campaigning feminist to go in at the same time

Hmm
AnyFucker · 11/03/2015 22:40

You up for it Basil ? Wink

StillLostAtTheStation · 11/03/2015 23:08

Of course she can't be blamed for his behaviour but what sort of person attempts a sleb career on the back of his awful crime? Just awful.

And Goggins who is still trolling his way around Twitter trying to out Jean Hatchet and rapist Ched's victim.

AskBasil · 12/03/2015 13:54

LOL AF imagine the horror of being in the BB house with any member of Ched Evans' ghastly family...

Koalafications · 12/03/2015 14:37

I dont think I could cope with the level of stupidity that I would be exposed to.

DuelingFanjo · 12/03/2015 16:07

Apparently this is not true, in which case Channel five have decided using someone's rape is a good way to get extra publicity for their show. Disgusting.

She believes him like his fiancée. Stupid, yes. Evil, no.

Have a look at her twitter feed before you say she isn't evil.

pand0raslunchb0x · 13/03/2015 09:57

sashh what is her twitter name? am unsure whether I would be interested or disgusted to read her tunnelvisioned views.

If Evil represents ignorance to facts and lack of compassion for the victim in blind favour of her brother and his ridiculous claims that he is innocent, then that does imply to a degree that she is evil.

i've read the details of the case and the only things that stand out for me is the fact ched received a text saying "i've got a bird" from McDonald, Ched entered the room uninvited and unbeknownst to the victim, Mcdonald left the room so Ched could 'take over', then Ched left via a fire escape. Its an open and shut guilty case.

Mcdonald was acquitted as the courts deemed he had been given consent by the victim, regardless of how much alchohol she'd had, but he was certainly partly to blame for ched entering the room and should have been punished appropriately for the part he played in my view, not walk scot free.

If Ched is ever allowed back into football there will be a mass outcry of protests, the victim has changed her name several times due to death threats and now lives in hiding. Ched should not be allowed to be idolised in public view nor adorn the bedrooms of children.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 13/03/2015 11:11

Might not have been Channel 5. If she has an agent, and she had an audition, it's a fairly easy spin from there that she's going to appear.

pand0raslunchb0x · 13/03/2015 12:14

@puffinsareficticious

The trouble is there are always two sides to every story - she is representing the view of her brother who she pities and thinks is innocent. Without even mentioning the appeal just her presence on TV accelerates the debate. There are many football fans that want to see him reinstated into the money game, without reflecting on the case itself since they think he has alreasy 'served his time'.

Giving her a platform in a reality tv show should never be considered.
She represents a view that directly opposes the justice system & the verdict but more importantly further damages the victim. The aftermath of acquitting Mcdonald without any consequence for his part in the incident has propelled this ridiculous argument on the basis that it was 'unfair'. That is EXACTLY where they went wrong with this case. McDonald should have taken responsbility for inviting and allowing Evans to enter the room.

I've said it before: Evans girlfriend has not helped matters by accepting his apology unconditionally without knowing the facts of what had happened. Frankly she should have exited the relationship, perhaps via a fire escape as quickly as Evans did.

Evans has to be accountable for his disgraceful actions, he must rethink a new career path out of the media limelight and move forwards with it. Apology to the victim and acceptance of his regretable past decisions and the ultimate outcome , not defiance of it, would help him and his family move past this and in terms of finding a path of forgiveness and changing / growing as a person.

Koalafications · 13/03/2015 19:46

Well, she's denying it on her twitter account, so it was just a load of rubbish.

Interesting that she thinks its funny that she's 'wound up a few feminazis'.

I think I'd be more pissed off in her position having a convicted rapist for a brother though.

Yes.... I'm pretty aware of the issues. I get told to die in a fire by his supporters on a fairly regular basis. I'm also kind of involved in the various campaigns to make sure he's not reinstated.... have been from the beginning.

Thanks for the 101 précis though......

Koala.... Not sure she pissed any feminazis off.... why anyone would pity her is beyond me, she knows exactly what she's doing.
