Disney insists on Miss/Mrs title - should I complain? how?

today I booked tickets to disneyland paris. the website insists that everyone should have a title. the options are: Miss / Mrs / Mr.

No option for Ms. No option for Dr (my preferred title cos I earned it). No option to leave the title blank.

It is a silly little thing, but very annoying. can anything be done?

Comment rather than complain? Sounds like hair-splitting tbh. Or women, just ask nicely.

I wrote to MAM (purveyor of dummies and bottles) politely requesting they offered Ms as an option. I had a lovely reply saying they quite agreed and that they would change it. I never checked back to see if they did but it was a pleasant exchange.

I like Jupiter's approach.

Failing that, in your position OP I usually choose Mr as my title. If I'm forced to choose something that's not my title I pick the first option in the list and that's invariably Mr.

CalamitouslyWrong · 23/01/2015 22:09

Just pick Mr. that's what I'd do in that situation.

I once wrote Irrelevant on a form asking for title, to attend a show.
Then I got my name badge which said

Irrelevant Waiting

Dumbos.

That's quite funny sunnyday!

I always make a comment about this & inevitably, the change their firms eventually. Not until after I got my printer from PC World ( it's changed now) addressed to Mr Alsmutko (I'm female).
It might seem petty & yeah there's much more important things blah blah. But it is The Patriarchy seeking to label women as married or not married when it's irrelevent when all you want is a new printer.

LittleBearPad · 24/01/2015 09:13

Surely it's a French thing where all women over about 18 are Madame?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 24/01/2015 09:16

I'd comment as I am neither Miss or Mrs either (married with own surname).

Infinityseven - we need to swap, I never get anything adressed to Ms unless I have filled the form in myself, it always seems to be Mrs. I personally look forward to the day when the default is Ms, but it seems a long way off.

SirChenjin · 24/01/2015 11:28

I don't think it's The Patriarcy seeking to label women - more lazy or limited web design.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 24/01/2015 13:52

Well, web design must be superior in the US, then, where Ms. is the default and has been for years. Smile
