How do feminists feel about porn?

Do you feel like it portrays women in a bad way? I feel that porn belittles women in many ways and I'd like to stop watching it.

OP posts:

What about how we laugh in the faces of those men subjected to sexual assault ? How we egg on women to twat their menfolk around the head ?

xpedicure · 15/12/2014 19:21

"What about how we laugh in the faces of those men subjected to sexual assault ?"

Like I said, this is why most people want nothing to do with feminism.

Scum.

grimbletart · 15/12/2014 19:22

Oh dear. Poor xpedicure. Thought it was us feminists who don't have a sense of humour.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2014 19:23

How about they way we ruin men's lives by making false rape claims against them ?

grimbletart · 15/12/2014 19:24

Really AnyFucker? Golly, must have been a whole week since I made my last false rape claim. Clearly I'm not trying hard enough.

minklundy · 15/12/2014 19:28

When you say most people "do you have any evidence for that?" And are you counting the people who are female? Or only the proper people who have penises?

xpedicure · 15/12/2014 19:30

You think false rape claims are a joke?

minklundy · 15/12/2014 19:32

AF do you know where the fire extinguisher is? My blardy hairy lesbian lover has only gone and caused another conflagration setting her bra alight.

And if you want to stop watching porn, why not try reading erotica instead? No actual people involved because that's the difference the women in porn are actual people. Shock

xpedicure · 15/12/2014 19:32

"When you say most people "do you have any evidence for that?" And are you counting the people who are female?"

Men and women who aren't feminists, and many women are saying why on Twitter- see hashtag #WomenAgainstFeminism

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 15/12/2014 19:33

Is that steam coming out of xpedicure's ears?

Nasty feminists. Grin

YonicSleighdriver · 15/12/2014 19:39

BOOM!

PuffinsAreFictitious · 15/12/2014 19:39

Sorry, wimmin. Just got out of my bath of male tears, did I miss anything?

You do realise that this is being screen shot and posted on whichever fedora wearing website our pet MRA for the evening hails from, yes?

minklundy · 15/12/2014 19:48

Fedora wearing Grin
Ah so your 'evidence' is a twitter hashtag. Conclusive. And its gone from most to many now. Before you know it will be some.

DawnMumsnet · 15/12/2014 19:50

Evening all,

Just letting you all know that our new friend has now been, ahem, escorted from the building.

Thanks for all your reports.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 15/12/2014 19:51

Thanks Dawn.... if we find a malleable one, can we keep him as a pet next time?

Quiero · 15/12/2014 19:51

Twitter has people who aren't feminists shocker.

My god, who knew?

And because some people don't like feminism we shouldn't talk about it. Ah well, better get back to noshing DH off or darning some socks or something men approve of. Silly, silly me.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2014 19:54

Aww, shame. I was hoping to make a new friend there to practice my man hating on.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2014 19:56

Quiero, I see you haven't fulfilled your quota of manpleasing today. Shame on you !

PaulBrown · 19/12/2014 01:08

I have a couple of feminist friends. Some hates it, others don't have a problem with it.

partialderivative · 19/12/2014 02:49

Is erotic fiction viewed as porn?

partialderivative · 19/12/2014 02:50

Maybe 'viewed' was the wrong word Confused

partialderivative · 19/12/2014 18:22

So, if a rape scene was described in 'erotic' fiction. Would this be thought of as porn? And should it be banned

YonicSleighdriver · 19/12/2014 18:28

Partial, in erotic fiction, no actual rapes are taking place. No one is being filmed without their knowledge or consent. No film is being shared without knowledge or consent. No participant is being pushed to go a bit further than they would like.

Surely you can see that difference?

YonicSleighdriver · 19/12/2014 18:29

Incidentally, the OP wasn't about a ban, it was about a personal decision to cease using porn.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 19/12/2014 18:31

And the OP was a man.
