How does that goal get in and not this one:

I think the one Harold posted is better than the nominated one and was at a higher playing level. No idea why that one didn't get nominated instead

What Spence82 said. One, the volley is technically a lot better than in the first one (which really is, shut eyes, swing standing foot - one in 100 flies in). Two, the disguised dink around the corner, if she meant it (and I think she does), is sublime

The Lavogez goal is in the same "genre" as the Rodriguez one and could easily replace his in the final three.

So say that Roche's was a "shut eyes" 1 in a 100 is just plain wrong. When were her eyes shut? When she receives the aerial ball onto one foot? When she bounces it to her other foot? When she volleys the ball on the turn? Seriously, you are having a giraffe aren't you? Eyes shut! Yeah right

It should be Lavogez, Roche and van Persie. No jokes about bath tubs in the changing rooms after please.

Just realised that when you vote, the FIFA website doesn't show the votes to date .... guessing they can award it to whoever they want then .... like Qatar or whoever gets the best sponsorship deal?

Well the reason I'd have he Jakes goal ahead of both the others and the other goal posted is the touch on the chest. He's got his back to goal and is actually moving away from goal but manages to twist his body shape to chest the ball the way he does and still gets the power to tee it up despite the body position.
Then the incredible volley. Being a wc goal helps too (same way zidanes volley in the CL final is even more special because of the occasion/level of football)

If do think the French u20 goal posted is better than the Roach goal as I find the driven arched volley more pleasing.

If I was to pick fault with the roach goal and its a stretch to do that. I think that the second touch that keeps it in he air is only necessary as her first touch didn't go where she wanted. But tbf the flip side of that is that it's incredibly impressive to react to a ball that has hopped up in a way that you might not have expected (think someone like Suarez who is constantly playing in a reactionary manner to the ball bouncing off defenders knees etc)
