"Now I have an important question to whomever can answer: Suppose a Women got dead drunk, took a knife and killed a child or better yet got into a car and ran over a family. Do we considre this a murder or let the women go as she was drunk? I know for a fact that the feminists will argue as to let the girl get away scot-free but Im curious of what you think is the right action."

And what makes it rape is not what the woman does, it's what the man does.

SevenZarkSeven · 16/11/2014 16:53

Anon yes and of course the idea that there would be numbers of women doing (reporting men to the police for sex they consented to) shows up a terrible attitude to women ie that they are vindictive and enjoy getting men into trouble for no reason.

Of course the truth is that most women, like most men, are normal human beings who are more than capable of having ill advised consensual sex when rather pissed and not demanding afterwards that the man be arrested immediately.

The very idea that there are so many women out there having "sex they regret" and then lying to get out of some kind of trouble Confused is a real virgins/whores type thing isn't it.

Anonnynonny · 16/11/2014 16:59

Yes and also so baffling and illogical.

Because if you've had ill advised sex which you wish you hadn't had, the best thing to do is shut up about and Never Speak of It Again, not rush down to the nearest cop shop.

The logic of it is so wrong. But of course, women are unreliable and illogical, so that's all right.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 16/11/2014 17:04

The thing to remember about consent is that it's not what the woman is thinking actually, it's what the man has a reasonable belief in her thinking. Her non-consent (or being too drunk/unconscious or whatever to consent) is a necessary but not sufficient precondition.

So, a woman who says "we can go back to mine" and rushes to her bedroom drawer for condoms and enthusiastically participates, say. It doesn't actually matter if she was incredibly drunk, doesn't remember it in the morning and would never have consented when sober. It doesn't matter that much if she says she was too drunk to consent. In the highly unlikely event it got as far as the CPS, they'd have serious issues with whether there would be likely to be a conviction, because the woman was sending out very strong 'yes' signals, so a reasonable belief would almost certainly be made out.

It actually isn't that hard for men. Don't have sex with someone who doesn't seem to be really enthusiastic and enthusiastically joining in. Because even if she is this virtually fictional character of a woman who regrets the sex and runs to the police saying she was too drunk to consent, what matters is whether you had a reasonable belief.

cailindana · 16/11/2014 17:08

AICM - what do you mean by "valid"? There seems to be a concern that two pissed people will have consensual sex and rather than the woman saying "what was I thinking?" and resolving not to get so pissed in future that 1) she'll go through the hassle, humiliation and stress of bringing charges for rape, when she doesn't consider herself to have been raped or 2) someone (who?) will sweep in and say "she was DRUNK! You MONSTER! Get thee to prison!" or 3) the man will get a sudden attack of misplaced remorse and hand himself into the police. In fact, all that happens is that they both chalk it up to experience and move on.

Sorry, that last post was to AICM.Smile

cailindana · 16/11/2014 17:19

Thanks btw AF Flowers

YonicScrewdriver · 16/11/2014 17:42

AICM, if the woman had the capacity to consent at the time she gave consent, then it is not rape.

I've got off with a mate when drunk and realised when sober it was a bad plan, but I recognise I had capacity to choose to do it or not at the time.

YonicScrewdriver · 16/11/2014 17:44

Sorry, missed a page of posts!

AICM · 16/11/2014 20:10

Thanks for your intelligent and thought provoking posts.
The issue I raised isn't something I'll worry about.

Thanks

rissepuc · 27/11/2014 02:36

@OP's question, if you were to ask the same question but replace "woman" with "man" everyone's answer would be "yes of course"

rissepuc · 27/11/2014 02:38

"90% of feminist will blindly support the female in any case regardless"

I would say it's probably closer to 99%

pinkyredrose · 27/11/2014 20:02

rissepuc you really don't like women do you?

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 27/11/2014 20:05

Why hello Riss. Aren't you charming.

LineRunner · 27/11/2014 20:12

Cailindana explains it very well.

The goady fuckers, not so much. Well, not all all.

LineRunner · 27/11/2014 20:14

Oh and no-one should be held 'accountable' for being a rape victim.

I do think people should be held accountable for raping and intimidating them, though.

CatLady25 · 29/11/2014 17:59

50/50 ive been drunk, ended up with a guy then regretted it next motning. At the time i wanted to f him tho so i wouldnt cry rape just cos i regret it next day

AnyFucker · 29/11/2014 18:11

Hey, rissepuc

Here is your 1% mate Wink

You two are made for each other

Yes, I am a very jealous minger

Sabrinnnnnnnna · 29/11/2014 18:14

Not many women do 'cry rape' catlady, the process of reporting a rape, and bringing an offender to conviction is no walk in the park.

'Cry Rape' is a very offensive term - given to believing that women will accuse men of rape on a whim, and that women lie about rape on a large scale. It is offensive, and feeds into the rape myths pervasive in our society.

TarkaTheOtter · 29/11/2014 18:15

People are responsible for their actions when drunk. Are you suggesting they should be responsible for the actions of someone who rapes them too?

PuffinsAreFictitious · 29/11/2014 19:12

Oh wow... it's like true love, innit?

YonicScrewdriver · 29/11/2014 20:16

Wow, catlady, you have been busy this afternoon!
