Offensive sign, what can I do?

Hi, I have never really been in this section before but I came across a ridiculous half naked woman sign yesterday advertising a scrapyard and would love to do something about it but I'm not sure where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Should I just write them a letter? I have a feeling that won't do much though.Thanks.

Failing that, what about the local (and not so local) papers and other media outlets? They would love a story like this, especially as the company has ignored bans from the ASA. The company won't like the media attention and 'should' react sharpish. However having said that, they sound particularly thick about this issue.

Good idea Zazzle, it was obviously in the paper before so might be worth writing to them again. Did you get any reply Lones?

Not yet! I might try the local paper. I might contact my community council, although they might not be able to do anything as I actually live in a neighbouring area to the offending image.

Also try the local radio stations, websites that promote local news. Is there a current affairs type program like this www.7perth.com.au/view/today-tonight, in your area?

I just drove past this sign again today and someone has painted pants on it! Was it a mumsnetter!?

Can we make all women wear burkas? I mean, I don't want to be offended, do I! What if I happen to see her skin, or find her attractive? Oh my...

What? Other people might want to see it? Why would I care if other people appreciate such things, I'm a feminist! All that matters is feminism- I mean, equality. Wink

Also, let's definitely keep all the posters of men in designer underwear or whatever else, up. We all know that's not as important. :)

Why have you dug up a 6 month old thread? Do you go looking for threads to be annoyed about? Is it your sign?

PuffinsAreFictitious · 30/03/2015 20:45

He's a child who has a bit of a problem with women. Hope the police are keeping an eye on him, any man carrying that much anger is going to do someone serious harm one day.

Why are (some) feminists so obsessed with censoring the "enemy"? www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-politics/10195151/Why-has-feminism-become-obsessed-with-censoring-the-enemy.html
