i know this sounds an odd thing to ask.

I'm a 28 year old women to ask, but my 16 year old niece ask me this question and I really didn't know what to say.

I get confused between feminism, equal rights and sexism.

by all means air strong opinions, newness isn't a barrier to that. but you are going to find most feminists objecting to what you say because you appear to be minimising the fact that the vast, VAST majority of violence is perpetrated by men, and this is one of the biggest factors in the oppression of women as a class

I'm always interested when I see people saying that men don't report their abuse because.... When all the evidence shows that men are more likely, not less to report DV, they are less likely, not more likely to drop charges, they over estimate, not underestimate DV they experience, they under estimate, not overestimate DV they perpetrate and on and on compared to women in the same situation.

Air away, but be prepared for your opinions to be discussed forthrightly and with facts. If. En wanted reeducation about DV, they are the ones in power, do you not think they would have done it already if it were important to them?
