Why are none of these highly educated people considering the fact that the men a women they know might act differently because they have been socialised to behave that way?!

gamescompendium · 29/09/2014 21:40

Ha, I know about this crawling experiment.

thatstoast · 29/09/2014 21:40

And now, the baby obstacle course!

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 29/09/2014 21:41

hurray, they're falling into the trap Grin

not that i ever did that with mine, oh no

KateBeckett · 29/09/2014 21:41

I'm so slow at typing...

OublietteBravo · 29/09/2014 21:42

I want to see how a mum with boy/girl twins reacts to the crawling ramp.

thatstoast · 29/09/2014 21:44

I was one of two girls in my A Level Physics class. We both dropped out after a year, the shame!

SevenZarkSeven · 29/09/2014 21:44

This is depressing isn't it, with the school kids.

OP posts:
WhatWouldFreddieDo · 29/09/2014 21:45

so 'creative' or 'caring' for girls

'doctor', 'architect', 'computing' for boys

so depressing.

SevenZarkSeven · 29/09/2014 21:45

I like the powerful important music for the male/female behaviour brain woman who is on now.

It said She Is Worth Listening To Grin

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 29/09/2014 21:46

x-post Seven

This Dr Gina something seems to have more of an idea

SevenZarkSeven · 29/09/2014 21:46

Thing is the girls identified that they had been influenced by media showing scientists as male etc but of course knowing something doesn't mean that emotionally you can not go along with it IYSWIM.

JugglingChaotically · 29/09/2014 21:46

So finally an expert that say difference between male and female brains less than diff between females or males.
Yippee!

SevenZarkSeven · 29/09/2014 21:47

Oh this is good stuff now!

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 29/09/2014 21:48

I don't see why 'creative' and 'scientist' (or indeed 'architect') should be considered mutually exclusive though.

SevenZarkSeven · 29/09/2014 21:48

I love Gina Grin

However lots of poeple will have had their ...

dammit DD down have had to pause

OP posts:
JugglingChaotically · 29/09/2014 21:49

Brain washing from birth. Differences are learned.
I had only brothers and my father treated us the same way. (Thank you to DF!)
And guess what, brothers arts based and I am a mathematician!!!

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 29/09/2014 21:49

Yes, finally, cultural pressures.

oh well, hopefully this is educating pp who have otherwise assumed the stereotypes are trufact

JugglingChaotically · 29/09/2014 21:50

Oubliette. Absolutely. Creative scientists! Arty architects.

JugglingChaotically · 29/09/2014 21:51

Hope so!

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 29/09/2014 21:51

Yes Oubliette, of course scientists are hugely creative!

Just goes to show the damage these stereotypes do to both genders

SevenZarkSeven · 29/09/2014 21:52

unpause!

people with belief in difference will have had their ideas confirmed and switched over by now...

JugglingChaotically · 29/09/2014 21:53

Are you watching. Her hand is way further in. He is keeping watch out!

neiljames77 · 29/09/2014 21:53

A closed hand will stand the cold for longer than an open hand

thatstoast · 29/09/2014 21:54

Also, doesn't he do this all the time?
