Book recommendations for DH

I have been talking a lot to DH about feminism recently and have shared lots of articles and websites with him and this has opened up some interesting discussions. He is already a believer in equality though wouldn't call himself a feminist and we have a very equal relationship and I am (I think) opening his eyes to the effects of the patriarchy. He has expressed an interest in reading books on the subject and would like some recommendations on what to read to learn more. I've not read a great deal of books on feminism myself so would like to ask here what I could get him to read to help him to learn more. What do you recommend?

Delusions of Gender by Cordelia Fine
Eve Was Framed by Helena Kennedy

Wifework by Susan maushart?

I'd add Delusions of Equality by Kat Banyard also

I'd suggest something simple, populist and entertaining to start with, if I was trying to engage somebody unfamiliar with it all. Caitlin Moran's How To Be A Woman ticks those boxes even if it is far from perfect.

Everyday Sexism.

And I second Delusions of Gender.

Kat Banyard's book is the Equality Illusion.

Second (or third) recommendation for Kat Banyard's The Equality Illusion and Wifework. Both opened my eyes to the Feminist cause.

Also, if he's feeling brave a visit to some of the RadFem blogs is always an education - Femonade and the ilk. Lots of uncomfortable reading though.

I would also recommend the books by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I have read only one of her books (I think it was 'Infidel'), and it was very, very interesting. She does write about female genital mutilation (so be prepared), but it is a great introduction on her awakening to the injustices that she suffered as a Muslim woman, at the hands of Muslim men. Not to be missed, check it out on Amazon so you can read a preview.
