Keira Knightley has posed topless and the Telegraph say it's a feminist victory for small breasted women. But surely it's a woman playing by men's rules that says that exposing ones breasts is necessary and indeed expected? Is this really a feminist victory??

She later staged a topless protest on the streets of New York to demonstrate against Instagram’s no nudity clauses under the belief that no woman should be made to feel ashamed of her body. I am not trying to argue for mandatory toplessness, or even bralessness, she said. What I am arguing for is a woman’s right to choose how she represents her body — and to make that choice based on personal desire and not a fear of how people will react to her or how society will judge her. No woman should be made to feel ashamed of her body.

I can't really argue with that.

Sorry Latte, I didn't want to see more as unfortunately I'd seen enough googling (not much of it true I don't think )

Just confused about us discussing topless photos when she's not topless and her breasts are greyed out Grin

"Why do actresses insist on posing topless?"

Why do feminists insist on continually criticizing choices other adult women make?

questioning =/= criticism

Because women who make those 'choices' are usually making them to the detriment of other woman.

In this case adding to general nudity in the public eye is not helpful and just adds to the pornification of society.

It's more the reporting of it as a feminist victory, which it clearly isn't.
