DD Abducted

200 Nigerian girls aged between 16 and 18 have been abducted. It is likely they will be used as slaves or "married" to the abductors.

It is 2014 and women are still being used in conflict in the most horrific way.

It distresses me that 200 DDs can be taken and nothing is or can be done to bring them back to their families.

do think it's awful that this has not had more media attention.

Boko Harem don't target only girls.

In February this year, they attacked a boys school and boys locked in dormitories were burned to death (escapees being shot).

It's taken 3 weeks for these girls to receive much coverage in the western news (and there is a possibility hey could be recovered before they are sold, though in the essentially ungoverned areas in the north I'm sadly not optimistic). Those boys' horrific deaths barely got a mention.

I remember it meditrina. Horrific. Absolutely horrific.

There is much racism going on here and acceptance of male violence with the lack of coverage.

I'm to disgusted how little fuss there has been about this in the media, there was a vague mention a couple of weeks ago, but not much until now.

I hadn't heard about the boys school at all.

Still seems if atrocities are occurring to black people in Africa they are just a footnote. If these poor girls were Ukrainian it would be front page news and action would be demanded at the UN
