I don't know if it's my computer or the thread has been locked but I cant post in the original one I made. Basically I just wanted to say again, thank you all so much for all the help and for showing me that those from BCF don't seem to be quite as cocky when they are up against superior minds like that on MN.

I have just been informed of a cancellation at the CBT center so I'll be doing my training tomorrow and if all goes well I'll be picking up my new bike ( Honda CBF ) on Saturday. I'll let you all know how I get on Thanks

gilo post again on this thread in that name, why dontcha ?

I am impressed you have taken time out from your punter-supporting ways on prostitution threads to grace us with your presence here

gilogowu · 27/03/2014 20:14

"That has absolutely made my day."

Says someone who calls themself "ballsballsballs"

ballsballsballs · 27/03/2014 21:34

I shrug in your general direction.

"See the point is there are no mods here. It is possible to express any viewpoint that isn't racist, sexist, disablist or homophobic here. It is fine to swear here. You just have to avoid personal attacks."

So perhaps you can explain why despite trying to be the voice of reason and explain that you can't judge the actions of a whole forum or a bunch of hobbyists on the actions of one or two people, I was locked out of the original thread?

I didn't offer any personal attack or insult to anyone (although I did report a post from a longer-standing member which I found to be crass and abusive), I tried to be supportive of the OP and I wanted to explain that the main protagonist who upset her in the first place is an immature idiot who admits that he was trolling her hoping to get a reaction and who is universally disliked by most of the regulars on BCF? Hmm

You can't really congratulate yourself on winning an argument (although maybe that is the wrong word, I didn't come here for an argument but to try and explain that not everyone on BCF is a hormone-ridden angsty teenage pimple) by taping up the other party's mouth!

BTW good luck with your CBT Wizzadora. I passed my bike test in the year I turned 40 (had a midlife crisis, got a tattoo and went self-employed at the same time!) and my only regret has been that I didn't do it years before Smile

ballsballsballs · 27/03/2014 23:48

Yambabe from what Wizzadora posted above, it seems as if the original thread has been locked for everyone, not just you. MN sometimes do that if it all kicks off.

Yambabe · 28/03/2014 00:07

nope, several other people posted on it after I tried and wasn't able to.

Yambabe · 28/03/2014 00:11

In fact someone has just posted in it now yet I still can't. Sad

And I have an inkling I know who the someone is....... Wink

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/03/2014 00:13

The someone is me. I was curious to see if the thread was locked. 'Twas my first post on that thread and I'm a FWR regular, if you are concerned I may be a Namechanger.

ballsballsballs · 28/03/2014 00:18

My mistake, I didn't try the thread myself and made an assumption.

You can report your post and ask MNHQ why you can't post on that thread.

Yambabe · 28/03/2014 00:22

sorry Ms Snatch, your posting style reminded me of someone else. My bad Blush

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/03/2014 07:02

No worries, Yam.

Thanks for the advice, it's really not "that" important if I'm honest though. It was just a little galling to see one or two people on the other thread crowing about how they had vanquished the invaders when actually the main reason nobody had come back was because we weren't being allowed to!

Just to clarify though I'm not male, I'm not anonymous (I have had the same username all over the 'net for nearly 15 years, googling brings up lots of pics and personal info about me) and while I wouldn't necessarily describe myself as a feminist I believe in standing up and speaking out for what I believe in.

Oh and here's a pic of my bike Smile

I'm sure you have hobbies that leave me cold too Wink

After all, if we all thought the same and did the same things life would be terribly boring, and you'd never get tickets to the good show right? Grin

Pantah630 · 28/03/2014 09:33

Very nice yambabe xv750? 1100?

Pantah630 · 28/03/2014 09:34

Or did you go against your name and buy a tractor? Small pic, can't make out the motor Grin

Pantah630 · 28/03/2014 09:37

Wish there was a tongue firmly in cheek emoticon.....no offence to any HD owners intended :)

Yambabe · 28/03/2014 10:00

LOL it's a Suzuki, VS800.

Despite my username (which was acquired when I was a pillion on a succession of yams!) I have never actually ridden one on the road.

This makes me very easy to spot though, as I am the only person I think who rides a Suzuki with a vanity plate that actually says "YAM" on it! Grin

No really, I AM that sad..... Blush

Pantah630 · 28/03/2014 10:06

Lol, we've got a succession of cruisers in for mots and work today, vt1100, vl1500 and a vn800. Those engines all look the same at first glance :)

I've still got my first yammy, an old stroker, and almost every other bike I've owned, much to DHs displeasure, I can't ride them all at once and my preference for daily riding is the one that eats tyres and c&s, lucky to work in the trade as parts are at cost. :)

Yambabe · 28/03/2014 10:30

I have 3 bikes at the moment, both the ones in the pic are mine (the silver one is a VS1400 but the OH rides it more than me cos it's a heavy old beast and I am a shortarse!) and I also have a somewhat tatty 550 Zephyr for commuting/winter riding.

The black VS is my fave though, I've had it from new and can't see me ever parting with it if I'm honest. Smile

OH has a collection of old Yam XS's that I occasionally nag him about cos they are mostly garage ornaments these days.......
