www.france24.com/en/20131031-france-prostitution-343-bastards-hands-off-my-whore

This is a campaign in France (featured on Woman's hour) to oppose laws to criminalise the clients of sex workers in France.
They (all men) have hijacked a slogan used by women's rights campaigners and say that theirs is a feminist agenda.

Note the use of possessive- 'my' whore.

With 'friends' like these does feminism really need any enemies?Hmm

The 343 Bastards indeed...

The "my" comes from co-opting a "hands off my body" slogan for abortion rights. Because a man using the possessive about a woman and a woman using the possessive about her own body are equivalent, in Bastard brains.

I don't think they are calling themselves friends of feminism though so I didn't get that bit of your post -?

MrsMinkBernardLundy · 26/11/2013 22:28

When they were interviewed they were saying that they had co opted that slogan because they were sticking up for women's rights. if women have the right to choose to have abortions because they control their own bodies they have the right to sell their bodies for sex.

Hmm Although they did admit that up to 90% of sex workers in France are trafficked or coerced, and therefore, are not choosing what to do with their own bodies they had no suggestionswhat to do about this.

They just wanted to mansplain how feminist they are.

Ok, so the current law criminalises prostitutes and the new law criminalises clients?

But the men are only now protesting that it's a woman's right to sell sexual services?

When women were criminalised previously but won't be going forward?

Did I get that right?

It does intrigue me that there are certain areas of women's "rights" that men are so keen on, top of their list seems to be the "right" for a woman to have have sex with a man for money.

Yet, other areas of women's rights don't seem to get nearly so much male concern. Hmm

Yes I saw this elsewhere. Totally disgusting.

Men also seem to be keen to support feminist campaigns that involve young pretty women going topless.

Strange that

indeed Hmm

It should be noted that there is another men's group supporting the change in the law and opposing this bunch of twunts and making the point that many men are horrified by the idea of prostitution.

but it was just this lot that really got my goat and the total mansplaining that went on here www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/whnews need to go abck a few epsiodes. (the one on women, crime and violence is also worth a listen and much less provoking of teeth grinding)

Angry

Fucking vile.

Hey "bastards," hands off bodies that aren't your own. You own your own body. You don't own and aren't entitled to other's bodies...simple.
