Few things are as creepy as a male journalist rubbing their thighs with glee at getting to interview a famous woman they find attractive.

This interview with Julianne Moore in the Guardian being a case in point:Julianne Moore: 'Can we talk about something else now?'

I'm not actually sure that that is a good example of the phenomenon, though. I think his interest is summed up in the phrase "Moore is so mumsy, it makes me even more curious about her lack of inhibition as an actor." -- that he has trouble understanding how a female actor can be a good and devoted mother and also portray sex on screen. That's also a perfectly valid topic for FWR, though (the virgin/mother/whore thing).

It's such bollocks isn't it: one minute he's saying that there aren't many sexual roles for women over 50; the next he's saying, "she's so mumsy, I don't get how she's so sexual on screen." Um, isn't your second sentence a reason for your first, dumbo? That people struggle with women bein sexual once they've had children and/or they are past childbearing age?
