Because I'm starting to feel like they are.

I'm aware that my feelings are based purely on my own experiences and I think I actually want to be told I'm wrong.

I have reached a point where I am so fucked off with the society we live in that I feel like I want to take my children and go and live in some sort of community of women (do they even exist?)

"Apologies if my use if the word "strong" implied the converse was weak. I was lacking a more suitable antonym for vulnerable."
I suppose what I am saying is we don't have to be a 'vulnerable person' - in the sense that it defines us - to be vulnerable at some points. Women are perptually vulnerable in relation to men, in spite of whatever her individual qualities might be. An abusive man might enjoy breaking down a woman who seems 'sorted' because it is more satisfying than someone who is already broken, but he still has male privilege on his side, which makes that woman vulnerable in relation to him.

"Which is what the statistics say of course.... "

I doubt there are any official statistics that document anything but physical abuse. Emotional and financial abuse pass right under the radar.

I was horrified to find the "new" Home Ofice guidelines concatenate DV with EA; I suspect there will be a rapid spike in male victims of DV, by this reckoning.

Throughout my life I think I've been hurt more by women then men. I've worked in mostly female and mostly male environment and whilst there is a different dynamic neither is better per se. At this point in my life I think I trust women a lot less then men.
