Why does MN allow such sexist language?

I've just read the Cherie Blair thread and I'm shocked at some of the sexist language.

Ugly pig. Sanctimonious bitch. Evil cow.

Why is this ok?

Why can we not use the 'n' word here on MN, but posters can use outright sexist langauage? And why do posters ignore it, just because it supports their case?

Exactly. Being gay is one of the worst things a man can imagine being- but being a woman is even worse. So calling a gay man a bitch is really really insulting him!

I haven't read the whole thread (sorry, I usually do) but I can't tolerate the word bitch used about anyone.

And this is me who doesn't often turn a hair at the use of the word cunt (although user must be female).

Are you all tackling the culprits on the thread itself?

I ALWAYS pull people up for using the word bitch.
