Is their new campaign getting on anyone's nerves as much as mine??!! Yes, we need to teach our youngs girls to love their bodies... great work.

But at the start of the ad break they tell us that it is important not to give young girls negative images or ideas about their bodies and to build their self esteem and at the end of the ad break we're being told we can only be truley confident and happy if our armpits our "happy" hairfree and pimpleless and our skin perfect.

I know the advertsing industry is one of the main culprits when it comes to negative images of women, but it's even less palatable when they are so blatently pretending to be our friends and then selling our insecurities back to us.. arseholes.

Not to mention the fact that they are owned by Unilever - who make Lynx...

great message to be sending teenage girls about thie bodies <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=lynx+lucy+pinder&um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&sa=N&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&biw=1366&bih=664&tbm=isch&tbnid=FBhQ8qMKt7NRUM:&imgrefurl=www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/nov/23/lynx-lucy-pinder-ads-banned&docid=Hpdbp0LqrOiqMM&imgurl=static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Media/Pix/pictures/2011/11/23/1322044878324/Lynx-ad-001.jpg&w=800&h=435&ei=ZjV7T--LKMK-8AOa3aGeCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=187&vpy=183&dur=311&hovh=157&hovw=222&tx=163&ty=95&sig=112607941315141745534&page=1&tbnh=157&tbnw=222&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here

I haven't seen this particular one but I agree, I find the hypocrisy nauseating.
It depresses me that people fall for it. A long time ago a feminist friend sent me a Maidenform bra ad with the slogan 'The bra for the way you are!' which she liked because it namechecked feminism and talked all about how it was all about reflecting a woman's natural shape, which was, essentially, bollocks: what it was doing, like other bras, was creating a perfect perky young woman's breast outline no matter how old the woman wearing it - the clue was in the brand name and yet she still didn't see what was going on....

It's embarrassing! I've commented all over their facebook wall just now... I suppose it'll get deleted Angry
