Shock at the behaviour of the police and prosecuting authorities!

TrophyEyes · 02/04/2012 12:18

:( Hoping she's successful. However, it's alarming the rate the police will go to to cover up the actions of the men in their force. It's not the first time I've heard of something like this.

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 02/04/2012 12:28

Me neither, it's definitely an old boys network is the police and when women do 'squeal', it's they who get labelled as trouble makers and are eventually driven out of the force.

IAmBooyhoo · 02/04/2012 12:34

good luck to her. i hope she is succesful. how shocking that the evidence was dismissed as not proving the sex was unconsentual without even being looked at by the judge!! they really dont care what happens to women at all.

TheWomanFormerlyKnownAsSGM · 02/04/2012 16:29

I hope she is successful too.

KRITIQ · 02/04/2012 16:31

What a ghastly experience and strop, I fear what you say can be true not just of the police but other seriously male-dominated public services.

Wish her all the luck in the world, and kudos for speaking out like this. If more jaws drop from hearing how she was treated, that can help form some critical mass perhaps.

If she 'can't prove it' with video evidence what hope is there for anyone else Sad

victorialucas · 02/04/2012 19:16

I wonder if this fails if she will attempt a private prosecution?

AnyFucker · 02/04/2012 19:20

God, I hope she gets the justice she deserves

edam · 02/04/2012 19:23

Sickening - I DO hope she's successful.

Wasn't there a case recently in Scotland where police officers forced a rape victim to undress in a room with the door open, so passers by could see her, amongst other tactics to humiliate her and persuade her to drop the charges? Anyone know what happened to that case?

alexpolismum · 03/04/2012 14:34

The best of luck to this poor woman. If she is successful it could set an important legal precedent.

Just out of curiosity, I have noticed that the names of judges and prosecuting authorities in these cases are overwhelmingly male. Does anyone know what the male to female ratio is?
