Gender segregation on cChristmas Day

At no other time of the year is it so apparent, ime.

Here, earlier, the women were in the kitchen tidying whilst the men (and me) were sleeping/relaxing in the living room.

Now the women are in the living room watching Downton Abbey and the men have been ushered out (I don't know where they are or what they're doing but the kitchen is silent).

If it was like this 365 days a year no one would question the obvious need for feminism.

Happy femichristmas!

I know this must be quite common, but I've never seen it!

My DH has done all the cooking and cleaning/tidying today, and all my friends have had their DP's do at least 50% ,my dad is no longer with us but he was the same too

I'm not talking about cooking, though. Men do cooking- its cool look at Jamie Gordon Et al. It's the cleaning up and all the scud work that disproportionately falls on the wimmen.

Absolutely but I was talking about the cleaning and tidying up too, as I said I'm not disputing it happens, but I have honestly never seen it in action Smile

Nothing wrong with gender segregation. As long as no one gender is doing more than another, it's fine.

You don't want to interfere in the cooking, dishing up or washing up in my folks (or my) house. We all have our own wee ways and my god haveercy on those who interfere.
