I've just been reading about this on the Guardian site. I've always wondered where all the women are in situations like this, so it's good to see an organised protest by women taking place. (Obviously would be better if there was no need for protest, but there you go!)

god, that image of those men ripping the clothes off that veiled muslim woman..
and those men are suppose to be muslims themselves.

The men assaulting her are indeed very likely to be Muslim, but she has stepped outside what they consider the boundaries and is therefore no longer deserving of respect in their eyes.
In the same way that many of the Muslim men I worked with would have sex with a female, but instantly dismissed her as marriagable because she's had sex with them.
True courage to continue to protest in those circumstances.
