They had the 4 quizmasters from a show called 'The Cube' on the sofa today - apparently these people are world-renowned quiz masters. There were 3 men and 1 woman. Viewers were encouraged to phone/text in with really tough questions to try to challenge these quizmasters.
Dan Lobb (who I find v funny sometimes) asked the quizmasters if they would admit to any areas where their knowledge was weak. He addressed it to the group at first, then asked the female quizmaster 'Anne, come on, how about sport?'
I was just about to shout at the telly when one of her male colleagues defended her by saying 'that's a bit sexist actually, she's the 2nd ranked female quizmaster in the world you know' (and good for him!)
To his credit, Dan Lobb didn't go down the 'dig yourself in further' route that many other male presenters would in this situation, and he didn't laugh it off either. He said with a straight(ish) face 'actually yeah it probably is (sexist), sorry'. I was glad he took it relatively well and apologised but was still
at a comment like that being made in the first place.
Anyone else have similar radio/TV stories to share (that don't involve Eamonn Holmes, as that's a well-trodden path by now?)
