It's the one that starts with the caption "First date". Very attractive women is being indecisive getting dressed, putting on spanx even though she is already thin, trying on umpteen outfits before finally answering the door to a not as attractive man. Then the caption comes up "Guaranteed second date" and I swore at the tv.

Has anyone else seen it?

Re - the spanx thing - that was also what I found most shocking about the "second date" ad too. Why on earth would somebody with absolutely no discernable lumps and bumps need such underwear is beyond me. Of course why there is no male equivalent, so men obviously do not get societal pressure to smooth out their lumps and bumps, is a whole other issue.

Chocobo
I get the same rage as when I watch "How to look good naked" where Gok tells the women to love their bodies as they are.

Then sticks them in spanx.

Ho. I left a comment on M&S's FB wall about those ads. They've either deleted or hidden it because it's not there now. Fucking cowards.

I saw the secrets on the tube and in the metro... The models look about 16??? It's MandS FGS, seeing 16 years olds in their clothes isn't going to make me buy them. The TV wasn't so bad... It's the poster/newspaper adverts I have a problem with.

The secrets??? Adverts!!!!

speaking of horiffic ads (a massive pet hate of mine) has anyone seen an advert for a new film called "How Does She Do It?" with Sarah Jessica Parker? It looks DIRE!
However, if anyone needs a cheeful ad - here's my favourite once again which I think I've posted before... :-D

Sorry I don't know how to make a link!

The tone of adverts aimed at men is completely different to those aimed at women.

Going back to the Sure advert I linked above, the man is average looking, lives alone, has a mid ranking office job, but his life is still shown as marvellous and in a positive light.

In this Sure advert, the woman actually has superpowers, but her life certainly isn't enviable:

I've only seen the M&S purple dress one and the ta-da! one. I like the purple dress commercial until she SIMPERED on opening the door! I even watched it again to make sure! Huh? She's just put a huge effort into looking all stunning and empowerful, for what does she need to simper?!

"Second date guaranteed" just made me retch. Surely the second date depends on how the first date goes? Oh, right, no, we're all desperate for a second date even if the guy turns out to be nothing like what we wanted - and all men will go for a repeat of a duff date just because the woman wore a nice dress on the first one. The creative team must both be about 13, they've clearly never actually dated anyone.

I empathised with the skin-cream woman on the bus, but would have done more if she didn't fucking simper as well. The other clips alienated me big time, with their smirky desperation to Fool A Man. Which is a shame, because I am bang-on target audience for those products. I am old enough to trust the men in my life aren't completely stupid, and also to know how old I look. They could sell me face cream by persuading me it'll make my skin look healthier, livelier even, but not with this fool-a-man bullshit.

13-year-old M&S creative team: nul points.
Sure for Men team: vingt points.

Now can we have a "Sure for Men" for women, please?
