I should hope most working women will have some sympathy with the rights of other working women and their pay and conditions. In particular teachers who are, after all responsible for delivering an education to our children.

Cameron has been out saying it's "wrong, we are still negotiating and striking is not the answer" Twat, in what way is strike action preventing negotiation. They are trying to imply that strike action will not bring about a possitive resolution for the teachers. What they really mean is they are scared because strike action is the last thing they need and they may have to give way on their cuts agenda and stop squeezing public servants. It's as if he thinks the "little people" can be baffled by his superiority. (sp)

Well, it's true.

We live in a society in which mothers take an unequal share of the responsibility for childcare. So working mothers will be affected more than working fathers.

Its more evidence of his divide and rule tactics. We're supposed to be too thick to see through it. Look at the way public is being pitted against private in an attempt to get his policies through.

Does make you wonder how desperate he is getting if he is now trying to make it a gender issue. Especially as his government is so mysogynist in other ways.

Has anyone else noticed how the teachers strike is being focused on so much, yet customs and other public servants who aren't so female dominated are being ignored. Listening to the news -and certainly reading mn- one would be forgiven for thinking that the only people striking tomorrow are the teachers
