Looks to me like they did up until 1998, so you're not wrong. I don't give a monkeys about the distinction between the owner's money and the company's money. The profits were still headed there.

I'm not too keen on Coca Cola either, but because of their water consumption in India (I know it's not funny but it's amazing how one can pick on these multinationals for any number of reasons when they go marching into other countries with their dubious practices)

Yes abortion bothers me, doesn't it bother you ??? I can see why people become involved with pro life organisations. I personally don't support them. I don't think that women should be forced to carry a baby that they don't want. I personally think that abortion is an understandable decision in certain circumstances which include rape and fetal abnormalities.

OnEdge. Having had a termination it doesn't bother me, I would much rather either of my daughters choose a termination than have a baby at 17. Why is there a difference in which fetus' you would abort? Is the life of a baby resulting from rape not as worthy as one from a one night stand? And then a baby with possible abnormalities not as worthy as a sixth baby conceived but not afforded within a marriage? Who makes that judgement?

I think abortion should be available for anyone that wants one.

i totally agree. and as a woman living in northern ireland who had a pregnancy scare recently i am furious that i would have been forced to have a baby that i couldn't afford simply because i didn't have the money to get to england for a termination.

Do you write to the companies you are boycotting to let them know why they've lost a cutomer? ...not necessarily Nestle, who know and are part of an organised boycott - but H&M, Lakeland etc..

I don't buy stuff from Lakeland, but I'm not boycotting them, I just don't see the need for a different cleaning product for every part of the house iyswim...

It varies. Several of them I have ongoing email exchanges with. Many of them I don't tell them. I don't think I'm going to bring them down by not shopping there, it's more about there being a gazillion places to spend my money so I don't spend it there, for my own integrity rather than in the belief that it will impact on them. You'd need stacks of people to have any impact, Nestle as case in point.

But of course if everyone shopped with integrity it would work, but I don't see that happening with the way that 'value' is prioritised over other considerations.

I don't know ...keep it up, always good to tell them, they do pay attention to such things (customer feedback) internally even it the impacts are not immediately obvious.
