Are they really any better than Barbies?

Barbie is an adult with long legs. The newer ones have smaller boobs and bigger waist than the old ones so she is more in proportion except for her height.

Moxie is a child with massive baby eyes and a childs ambitions and no actual achievement but with a pout and boobs. I don't like the juxtaposition.

I think the point of dolls is you can give them their own personality and imagine a life for them, I don't like the bossyness of the moxie concept.

I'm a bit torn by the Moxie thing as I like the size of the dolls - bit bigger than Barbie and thus easier for DD to handle. DD is only 3 but already has 3 Barbies. I hate Barbie but I don't want to monitor her taste. I also hate Disney and the whole princess thing but she loves it and them. My only consolation is that her favourite colour is red and not pink.

My DD currently wants a "Liv" doll but I've told her she needs to be older (should have done that with the Barbie dolls) but these look just as bad as the Moxie ones. There is no way she's having a Bratz doll though .

What I've always wondered about all these types of dolls (Moxie, Liv and Bratz) is why none of them are smiling? That really gives me the creeps! Amongst all the other stuff.
